MAUI : IN PHOTOS

Chad and I are spending the week in Maui, visiting with some friends and fully taking in this amazing island. It’s not hard to be inspired by the beauty here. There’s something about it that makes you come alive.
Before we left, I sold a couple pieces of bulky camera gear and traded for the pocket sized Sony RX100 iv. It’s been so fun to put it to the test in this field and I have to say it’s operated even better than I thought it would.
Photography has long been a passion of mine, but I certainly lost the love there for a little while. I was uninspired and in a rut, not just with the art, but with life in general. The past six months have been a time of restoring, refreshing and renewing not only my passion for photography but for life in general.
It’s amazing how quickly our senses can dull in certain seasons, sometimes without even realizing it. Being here has been icing on the cake to my senses being woken up. The colors here are vibrant. The smells and the tastes here are particularly refreshing and sweet. The people are welcoming, hospitable, and leave a mark of kindness and gentleness.
There seems to be a wisdom about life on the island, begging you to slow down an appreciate this life we have been given. May that lesson linger.
I have perhaps over-documented our time here, but for me photography is a tool that gives me a deeper appreciate for beauty. Scroll down if you desire to see Maui through my eyes.
